North End Neighbours Culture Fest

The Association of United Ukrainian Canadians, United Jewish Peoples Order, Winnipeg Chilean Association, Federation of Latin American Associations in Manitoba, Canadian Palestinian Association of Manitoba, Friends of the Cuban Arts and Mount Carmel Clinic have joined forces to host the first North End Neighbours Culture Fest, being held on Saturday May 25th from 12-5 pm. This street party event will take place in front of the Ukrainian Labour Temple on Pritchard Ave (between Mckenzie St and McGregor St).

Multicultural entertainment, food and displays, will highlight some of the diverse cultures of the North End, and the broader city of Winnipeg.  Entertainment will be hosted by Cree Elder Winston Wuttunee and community activist Michael Redhead Champagne, with a full program available below. Activities will include art stations, basketball, chess, henna, and face painting, and will be hosted by additional participating groups including the Winnipeg Newcomer Sports Academy, Winnipeg Public Library, Siloam Mission and Graffiti Gallery.

In addition to the party on the street, the Ukrainian Labour Temple is will be open as part of Heritage Winnipeg’s Doors Open Festival. Historical tours will be available on Saturday May 25th and Sunday May 26th from 11 am to 4 pm.

Please bring your own water bottle to refill, and a lawn chair (if possible). There will be limited seating provided.

We will have a Bike Valet service provided by Bike Winnipeg, so you can feel confident and safe to cycle to the event!

The Culture Fest is made possible through financial and in-kind support from the Association of United Ukrainian Canadians, Province of Manitoba, City of Winnipeg, Social Planning Council of Winnipeg, University of Winnipeg, Ethnorama News, CKUW FM, Strike Poster, Yafa Cafe, Doors Open and Mayworks Festival of Labour and the Arts.
